The China (Chenzhou) Rare and Precious Metal New Materials Summit Forum kicked off on May 19 with the participation of over 200 academicians and industry experts.
This summit forum was one of the activities of the 11th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo and the first of its kind held by Chenzhou. The theme of the event was “new materials, new technologies, new equipment, and new business forms”. There were such activities during the forum as an industry conference, a forum for rare and precious metal deep processing and application of new materials, a matchmaking meeting and the on-site research and inspection.
During the event, experts and scholars had in-depth discussions about the development trends of the global rare and precious metal new material industry and contributed wisdom to promoting the high-quality development, transformation, and upgrading of the local rare and precious metal industry.
There are 46 types of minerals in Chenzhou, among which tungsten, bismuth, tin, fluorite and other minerals have the largest reserves in the world. The total reserves of microcrystalline graphite accounts for 70% in the world.
In recent years, Chenzhou, known as the “hometown of non-ferrous metals in China”, has prioritized the development of the non-ferrous metal industry, introduced the high-quality development implementation plans, and promoted the high-quality development of the non-ferrous metal industry.
At present, there are over 1,000 non-ferrous metal related enterprises in the city. In 2022, the city’s revenue from the non-ferrous metal industry exceeded 100 billion yuan, accounting for 29.5% of the province.
