Liu Zhiwei- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou City led some officials of Chenzhou Reform & Development Commission, Financial Department, Housing and Construction Department, Planning Department, City Management Department, and etc. to investigate the construction of pedestrians’ bridges in central urban area.
Liu Zhiwei and his investigation team investigated some projects of Wuling Avenue, Yanquan Road, Wenhua Road, Guoqing North Road, Feihong Road, Qingnian Avenue, and checked their progress. In the junction of Yanquan Road and Wenhua Road, Liu Zhiwei checked the details of the construction of pedestrians’ bridge in Luojiajing section. On learning that the preliminary work of the project was still under preparation, Liu Zhiwei specified three time nodes for it: accelerating bidding work and well preparing for the planning and budget to finish the preliminary work before January 7, 2016; the project should be launched before March 10, 2016; and the pedestrians’ bridge should be finished and placed to operation in the first half year of 2016.
Liu also stated that the pedestrians’ bridges projects which are operated on the transport nodes are concerned for support and benefit of people, so all departments should try all best to finish the projects with quality on time. It should not only be improved as the beautiful scenery of the city, but also be helpful to upgrade the transportation efficiency, optimize the traffic congestion situation, and improve people’s safe transportation condition by separating the pedestrians and vehicles.
