On January 22, 2016, Guiyang Government signed the contract concerned for the second phase of Dongjiang Diversion Project (Guiyang section) with Chendian International, which indicated that the project was fully launched.

Dongjiang Diversion Project which is planned to be handled out by recent term (2015), long term (2020), and (perspective long term) is one of the major projects of Hunan province. Chendian International is the construction main body of it. The three terms are followed the designated speed of 0.3million, 0.6million, and 1million cubic meters/day.

It was introduced that the investment for the first phase of Dongjiang Diversion Project was 1.199billion yuan for three-year construction and it was planned to be finished in December, 2017. Currently, cofferdam dominant engineering of intake and “three supplies and one leveling” of water plant have been finished; bidding work for intake and diversion tunnel was opened to public on December 28, 2015, while the bidding for water plant and water pipes would be opened soon; and the three main projects would be handled out comprehensively soon.

Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Chenzhou Government took a broad and long-term view to decide to place 958million yuan more investments on handling the second phase of Dongjiang Diversion Project (Guiyang section) together with the first phase, without variant of specified time schedule. On this point, Chenzhou-Zixing-Guiyang town cluster will be fully covered in the water supply area of Dongjiang Lake, which will greatly help to promote the integrated development of town cluster and “two-oriented society”.
