On the morning of May 18, the 6th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show (CMGS) opened in Chenzhou City. The opening ceremony was presided over by Liu Zhiren, Deputy Director of the 6th organizing committee and mayor. At the opening ceremony, Yi Pengfei, Chenzhou Party Secretary and Director of Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, delivered a speech, welcomed the exhibitors and guests, and introduced the economic development of Chenzhou City.

The 6th CMGS was sponsored by the Hunan Government, and jointly undertook by Hunan Provincial Department of Land and Resources, and Chenzhou Government with the theme of "Magical ore crystals, rare bournonite". The opening ceremony was broadcast live synchronously through CBTV News Channel, Chenzhou TV APP, Chenzhou People's Radio FM 99.2, New Hunan, Red Network, Daxiang Network, Sina, Huasheng online and other media platforms.
After the opening ceremony, the world's largest single crystal bournonite, the top rhodochrosite, known as the "Emperor of China", the dinosaur mummy fossils, the most complete preservation in the world, and other exhibits would be displayed at the Chenzhou International Conference and Exhibition Center.
It was understood that the 6th CMGS was the largest mineral gems event held so far and nearly 1200 Chinese and foreign exhibitors attended the show, showing the charm of "magical mineral crystals" and the current achievements of mineral gem industry development. The show will last for 5 days, with more than 300 tons of exhibits from more than 50 countries and regions including the United States, Germany and Australia.

At the show, there was also a free identification center, and the Changsha Mineral Resources Supervision and Inspection Center of the Ministry of Land and Resources, and Hunan Provincial Authorized Station for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Gold, Treasure and Jade Products can identify minerals and gems for the needy audiences for free.
