In 2008, the district realized a local GDP of 11.59 billion yuan and a fiscal revenue of 646.56 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.3% and 18.9% respectively. The composition of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries was adjusted to 5.3:50.6:44.1. The per-capita disposable income of urban residents and the per-capita net income of rural people hit 13,852 yuan and 6,254 yuan respectively. In addition, Beihu District has won the first place in Chenzhou City's comprehensive evaluation of economic and social development for three successive years.
