Chenzhou has three rural museums

39 rural museums in Hunan have been included among the first batch of rural museums in Hunan announced by the Cultural Heritage of Hunan recently. Three rural museums in Chenzhou City made the list, namely, the Chaping Yao Museum in Zixing City, the Qingquan Tea Culture Museum in Guidong County, and the Leigongjing Village History Museum in Jiahe County.

The Chaping Yao Museum in Zixing City features the exhibition and performance of Yao historical relics and intangible cultural heritage. Rich historical relics and documents are on display, such as stone inscriptions, scriptures and books, genealogies, contract documents, and farming and hunting tools. Besides, characteristic techniques are presented, including traditional songs and dances, martial arts, paper cutting, embroidery, Yao medicine, bamboo rattan weaving.

The Qingquan Tea Culture Museum in Guidong County, adjacent to the Provincial Highway S352, covers an area of about 600 square meters. It’s divided into five areas: tea history exhibition area, handicraft exhibition area, Hakka tea culture experience area, tea product exhibition area, and tea tasting area. It aims to inherit Guidong’s long history of tea culture and promote industrial revitalization through cultural revitalization.

Leigongjing Village of Jinping Town in Jiahe County is a national-level traditional village and an inheritance base of Jiahe Wedding Song. The Leigongjing Village History Museum has an exhibition area of 1,160 square meters, with six halls set up in 2016. There is text display as well as 60 promotion boards and 128 physical objects on display.
