Recently, the 2019 research results of high quality development index of small and medium-sized cities in China were released. Liufeng Town of Guiyang County was selected as "National Top 1000 Comprehensive Strength Towns in 2019", marking that Liufeng Town was selected as "National Top 1000 Comprehensive Strength Towns" for three consecutive years (2017, 2018 and 2019).

Liufeng Town is one of the "three famous towns in southern Hunan" and also the important town in Western Guiyang. Located at the intersection of Chenzhou, Hengyang and Yongzhou, Liufeng Town is 44 kilometers away from Guiyang County. Yuelin expressway of Beijing Zhuhai Expressway passes through from north to south, and the Provincial highway S323 runs through Liufeng Town from west to East. It is the economic and cultural center of the northern Guiyang County, known as the "Famous Town in Southern Hunan" and "Little Hong Kong".

It was understood that in the selection of the "National Top 1000 Comprehensive Strength Towns in 2019", considering the availability and comparability of the data, the research group selected three indicators for comprehensive comparison: the Gross Regional Product, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents, and the public financial income. In 2017, Liufeng Town was selected as one of the "National Top 1000 Comprehensive Strength Towns" by 967; in 2018, the town was selected as one of the "National Top 1000 Comprehensive Strength Towns" by 722; this year, it was selected as one of the "National Top 1000 Comprehensive Strength towns" by 719.

In recent years, with the goal of "building a county sub center, building a new industrial town, an important business town, a strong cultural town and an ecological town", Liufeng Town has made overall efforts to stabilize growth, promote reform, adjust structure, and benefit people's livelihood, and strengthened party building in an all-round way to ensure steady and rapid economic and social development.
