Linwu County is the dominant planting area of citrus in our province, which is suitable for the planting of grapefruit. As a local variety, Linwu grapefruit has outstanding advantages. Recently, the citrus research and technology team of Chenzhou Agricultural Science Institute came to Linwu County to investigate the grapefruit industry such as the virus-free seedling breeding base of Linwu grapefruit and the production standard production demonstration park of Wolonggu Linwu grapefruit.

Linwu grapefruit is a new local variety with independent intellectual property rights. Experts have successfully selected two new varieties of Leigongyou No.1 and No.2 from the excellent wild grapefruit (Leigongyou) in Linwu area after many years. At the Hunan Grapefruit Variety Appraisal Meeting, the quality, character and appearance of the new product rank first among other varieties.

According to the citrus research team of Chenzhou Agricultural Science Institute, it is necessary to adhere to the green food production and planting regulations, strengthen the application and promotion of Linwu grapefruit standardized planting mode, carry out the green prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, and improve the ability of scientific planting management. Through the mode of "cooperation between institute and enterprise", the researchers of the Municipal Agricultural Science and Technology Institute are fully engaged in tackling all kinds of scientific research and technology problems of Linwu grapefruit, focusing on the purification and rejuvenation of varieties, the development and construction of standardized orchard, and the subsequent breeding of new varieties, so as to improve the scientific and technological content in the cultivation and management of Linwu grapefruits.
