Mangshan Langpan Lake Wetland in Yizhang County Included in "List of National Important Wetlands in 2020"

Recently, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration announced to release the "List of National Important Wetlands in 2020", and Mangshan Langpan Lake Wetland in Yizhang County was listed in the list.

 

The total area of Mangshan Langpan Lake in Yizhang County is 100 hectares, with 31 hectares of wetland, including lake wetland and swamp wetland. The protected objects include water shield, snow-white water lily, Carex lasiocarpa, yellow bellied pheasant, red foot falcon, Mangshan iron headed snake and other rare and endangered wild animals and plants.

 

"Wetland" refers to the perennial or seasonal water area, water area and sea area with water depth not more than 6 meters at low tide, including swamp wetland, lake wetland, river wetland, coastal wetland and other natural wetlands, as well as key protected wildlife. Wetlands, together with forests and oceans, are the three major ecosystems in the world. They play an irreplaceable and important role in conserving water resources, purifying water quality, storing flood, stabilizing coastline, purifying air, regulating climate, protecting biodiversity and so on. They are known as the "kidney of the earth", "species gene pool" and "biological supermarket".
