Special Performance of Selected Scenes from Taipei Kunqu Opera Troupe

On April 27, 2012, "Dating with Chenzhou" - Taipei Kunqu Opera Troupe gave a special performance of Kunqu selected scenes, which is one of the activities of Kunqu communication across strait. All the six classic scenes as "Nanpu", "Visiting Garden", "Interrupted Dream", "Seeking Dream", "Picking up a Painting", and "Collecting Flower" were well enjoyed by the Kunqu fans.

 

Taopei Kunqu Opera Troupe was established by the traditional opera actors and culture circles fond of Kunqu spread and performance in March, 2003. It is a noncommercial and amateur troupe, which is greatly helpful for promoting the Kunqu communication across strait with the Kunqu performance, Kunqu artistic appreciation lecture and many other ways.

 

In order to present the splendid performances to the audiences, the actors of Taipei Kunqu Opera Troupe rehearsed with Hunan Provincial Kunqu Opera Troupe from the early morning on April 26, 2012. Chen Yichao, acting as Liu Mengmei, said: "It is our honor to be in Chenzhou; we studied the scenes together with the performance skills, and not just the singing but the acting as well."

 

With the gorgeous voices, refined spoken parts, fine performances, and elegant dances, Taipei Kunqu Troupe's performances offered the audiences a visual and auditory feast. During the performance, there were thunderous applauses from the audiences.
