Recently, China Anren forth “Guozhen Cup” folk “Yuanxiao Mould” contest was held in Anren county.

“Rice mould” was a unique folk tradition in Anren county which was for the commemoration of Yan emperor. This kind of tradition was handed down for thousand years in Anren county. Every lantern festival, Anren people would make the rice mould shaped as different animals and plants with some Chinese medicine as decoration.

This contest was organized by Anren Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and was undertaken by Anren Cultural Center and Zhouguozhen Pottery Museum. It was mainly for promoting the fine folk culture. More than 60 contestants who were divided into youth group and adult group attended the contest. Thousands audience was attracted by the contestants superb skills which can figure out so many different images vividly. The gold medals of the two groups were rewarded out on the contest site.
