Recently, commemorative activities for 100 anniversary of comrade Peng Ru were held in Chenzhou city and Yizhang county.

Comrade Peng who was the former member of Central Committee for Discipline Inspection Commission was born in Yizhang county. As one of the first female soldiers of the Red Army, Peng contributed greatly to promote the development of Chenzhou city and Yizhang county.

18 relatives of Peng Ru visited Xiangnan Uprising Museum after they arrived at Chenzhou city and attended the unveiling ceremony of Peng’s bronze statue in Chengqi primary school of Yizhang county where was the former site of Yizhag County Party Committee. Peng’s daughter delivered a speech on the unveiling ceremony and expressed her mother’s good willing to go back hometown and witness the development of Yizhang county. A symposium with villagers was followed the unveiling ceremony.

At the meantime, a special symposium was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of comrade Peng Ru in Yizhang county. He Wenjun- member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Secretary-general of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee stated that all members of the Party and staffs of departments should take Peng as the example to delicate their lives in the promotion of Chenzhou city’s development especially the take-off of Chenzhou city currently with good working style and noble features. Peng’s son also presented a speech on the symposium to commemorate Peng.

President of Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC- Chen Shezhao and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission of Bank of China, Hunan Branch attended relative activities as well.
