It was reported that Jiahe county’s lantern opera “stay-behind sister-in-law” entered the finals of the tenth China Art Festival.
The tenth China Art Festival was held in this October in Shandong province by the State Ministry of Culture and Shandong Provincial Government. Some activities as “Wenhua award” for assessment of innovative programs, “Star award” selection, contest for outstanding actors, individual professional art contest, national fine art works exhibition, cultural communication, etc would be carried out during this festival in different places of Shandong province.
It was introduced by Wang Jiguo- Director of Jiahe New Media Group that different categories of art performances were available in the art festival. Jiahe county’s lantern opera “stay-behind sister-in-law” was for the finals of drama category. 88 troupes would compete to win the first title in the finals which would be held in the Grand Theater of Weihai International Convention and Exhibition Center in Shandong province. Jiahe county’s opera would show the performance on the seventh competition on October 24, 2013.
It was learned that lantern opera was local cultural art in Jiahe county for about one hundred year. Jiahe folk sing, dance and other art forms were mixed in this lantern opera which was one of the favorite operas of Jiahe people. This “stay-behind sister-in-law” program attended the quarter-final on June 24, 2013 and won the title to perform in the finals of the tenth China Art Festival successfully.
