The cultural name card of Chenzhou city shinning in Beijing
Along with the musical sounds, Tianxiang version of “Peony Pavilion” which was played by Hunan Kunqu Opera Troupe was performed in National Grand Theater on March 3, 2015. The audience was immersed into the audio-visual feast of the beauty of classical Kunqu opera. Han Yongwen- Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Secretary of Hunan Provincial Party Committee, Wang Jiaxin- Director of Supervision and Administration Leading Group of Central Cultural Enterprises’State-owned Assets of Finance Ministry, Xie Chaoying- Director of Hunan Economic and Information Committee, Li Hui- Minister of Hunan Provincial Cultural Ministry, Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City and some other leaders and guests watched the performance.
A classic work is kept being handed down for generations. “Peony Pavilion” is one of the most important performances for every Kunqu opera troupes. Tianxiang version “Peony Pavilion” which was played by Hunan Kunqu Opera Troupe was not the first time to be performed in Beijing city. In the end of last year, seven Kunqu opera troupes gathered in Beijing city to play “Peony Pavilion”. Tianxiang version “Peony Pavilion” received with sound feedback for its inheriting of the features from famous Kunqu opera actors- Zhang Xunpeng and Cai Zhengren. On March 3, 2015, both the two seniors watched their students- Luo Yan, Lei Ling and Wang Fuwen’s performance on site. All the actors did not let their teachers and audience down. Luo Yan and Leiling presented a bright, beautiful and shinning Du Liniang and Wang Fuwen presented an elegant, graceful and scholar-style Liu Mengmei to the audience. All other costars performed excellently as well. It greatly showed the comprehensive capacity of Hunan Kunqu opera.
