As you can see from above image, Liu’s Dragon Dance was being placed on the ancestral hall of Qincai Village, Meihualing Town, Linwu County on the second day of Chinese New Year of the Rooster. Villagers were gathered there to enjoy their happy time of the New Year.
This Special dragon dance consists five parts as sacrifice, parade of dragon, two dragons flow around columns, dance, and returning the dragon. After the sacrifice ceremony in the ancestral hall, the dance troupe travelled around the village and prayed for villagers, then it came back to the ancestral hall and presented dragon dance performance there.
Two dragons which were performed by the troupe members presented an excellent dance to villagers.
It was introduced that this dragon dance has been carried forward over 980years and was enrollled on Chenzhou Nontangible Cultural Heritage Protection List.
