First Street-level Audio Library Opens

2019-04-19

On April 12, the Audio Library of Renmin Road Subdistrict Office in Beihu District was officially opened, which was the first street-level audio library in Chenzhou City.

What is an audio library? Live citizens in the audio library can scan the QR code with their phones and wear headphones to start reading. This new learning way makes reading more convenient, interesting, and popular with residents. The center's audio library was opened to the public on the same day. Through phone scanning album QR code, citizens can listen to a large number of books free of charge, covering history, Chinese studies, music stories, business finance, children's stories, etc. In the future, Chenzhou will also add audio content with local characteristics.

Reporters in the Renmin Road Audio Library saw an AI speaker "Xiaoya". As long as you say what you want to hear, Xiaoya will play the recording according to the order. If you are worry about affecting others, you can also scan QR code with your phone and wear headphones to enjoy the audio reading. On this cultural wall of the library, we can see 8 sections, including the New Age, the Nineteenth National Congress, Party Constitution Learning, Party Affairs Questions and Answers, and Traditional Culture, totaling 30 items, each of which is printed with QR codes matching books.

In order to change the single mode of cultural transmission and the low utilization rate of cultural positions, Renmin Road Subdistrict Office, in view of the shortcomings of traditional books that are not easy to carry and limited in number, cooperated with Himalaya Chenzhou Station, and took the lead in building this audio library in the whole city. Although the library is small in size, the amount of books is astonishing.

Following the Third Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee, the Audio Library responded to the call of the Central Civilization Office to build a cultural public welfare project, aiming to promote the nationwide reading and build a literary Beihu.
