The Nanta Park located in the center of Chenzhou, North of Nanta Road, West of Guoqing South Road connected, South of Xiangxue Road and East of Qingnian Avenue, planning area of 460 mu, the highest elevation of 250.1 meters, is a municipal comprehensive park with good cultural heritage and good ecological protection, and takes showing the local history and folk culture as the theme.

The South tower has been completed before the Northern Song Dynasty and the existing tower has been rebuilt in the Eight years of Qianlong (1743). In 1980, the Municipal People's Government designated it as a key cultural relic protection unit at the municipal level. In 2002, the tower was made the overall maintenance and lighting. In November 2006, the Nanta Park was started the construction and opened on September 25, 2009. In December 2014, the "South Tower bell" was named one of the new "Eight Sceneries in Chenzhou".

The construction of the park fully excavated the historical and cultural connotations of Chenzhou, rationally used the natural topography, combined the traditional garden concept with the modern design means, and set the history and culture, rest and entertainment in one. The park is divided into the South Tower Park, Harmony Park, Cuiwei Park and Amusement Park with perfect infrastructure and facilities，landscaping coverage rate of 92%.

In 2016, Nanta Park combined with the creation work, focused on the construction of theme park for "minors ideological and moral education", further improved and enhanced the infrastructure functions in the park, and newly added 364 publicity boards with enjoyment and educability, windows, etc., to show our traditional culture of "benevolence, righteousness, rites, intelligence and fidelity", "Eight Rites", "Disciples Regulation", and "Three Character Classic", and carry forward the "socialist core values", so that the minors can exert a subtle influence on education and recreation, perceive the influence of culture, and set up the correct ideology and morality when playing in the park.
