The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission that the National Urban Rail Transit Vocational Education Group was established in Beijing on the 23rd. The vocational education group is composed of nearly 140 member units in 31 provinces and regions, which is the first vocational education group of urban rail transit in China.

The vocational education group was jointly approved by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Transport to establish, and organized by the Beijing transportation Career Academy and other 6 demonstration of occupation colleges, and the country's largest subway operators - Beijing Metro Operation Company.

The vocational education group members are mainly vocational colleges and urban rail transit operators, including the members units in Beijing, Guangdong and other provinces and cities, such as the urban rail transit equipment manufacturing, service enterprises, industry associations, societies, scientific research units, vocational skills institutions and foreign vocational education institutions.

In recent years, the urban rail transit in China developed rapidly, the construction and operation scale increased rapidly, the number of newly built rail transportation cities was increasing, and the level of technical equipment was improved continuously. However, the lack of qualified personnel, irrational structure of urban rail transit and other problems became the weakness to restrict the development of urban rail transit. .

Some insiders believed that the establishment of the National Urban Rail Transit Vocational Education Group contributed to form the effective connection between participants in the urban rail transit industry, establish the cooperation platform of production，learning and research, better meet the needs of talent, technology, management and other aspects on the rapid development of rail transit industry, and further standardize and improve the training of urban rail transportation talents.

The vocational education group will build a cloud platform and is expected on the line in 2018 to provide online education services for 510,000 people. The group will also improve the overall quality of enterprise employees through on-job training, continuing education, skills competitions, etc.; support the upgrading of enterprise technology and management through the development of applied research and promotion.
