Cultural and Natural Heritage Day celebrated in Chenzhou

On June 11th, the cultural heritage promotion activity, together with the 3rd Chenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Shopping Festival, was held in Wangxianling Scenic Area in celebration of the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. Fifty intangible cultural heritage projects were displayed and nearly 200 intangible cultural inheritors from the city participated in the event.
In 2021, Chenzhou City increased efforts to bid for the representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Three projects, including Jiahe wedding songs, Panwang ceremony in Zixing, Chen’s Api-therpy, have been inscribed on the list of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage, with the number ranking first in the province.
The other eight projects including Xiangnan wood carving and silver jewelry forging technique were successfully selected into the fifth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage.
The theme of this year's Cultural and Natural Heritage Day is "Connecting Modern Life with charming brilliance", which aims to showcase the rich intangible cultural heritage resources, attract social attention, and arouse the public awareness to protect intangible cultural heritage. This event will last for 3 days.
The Hunan Kun Opera Troupe and the Suxian District Baihua Art Troupe gave performances at the event. Relevant leaders awarded medals for the national and provincial intangible cultural heritage projects in 2021.
