This intangible cultural heritage performance, which has been passed down for hundreds of years, injects a strong traditional flavor into the Spring Festival with its original folk customs and vivid scenes of rural revitalization, making this millennium-year-old county full of vitality. 

 

 

At around 9:00 a.m., the performance teams from Yunshan Village and Yidao Village slowly walked out of their respective ancestral halls, marking the start of the event.

 

 

During the event, the two teams presented 9 stories and 18 classic plays. Each story is told with an exclusive story stand lifted by four people, on which one or several children aged 2 to 13 who wear costumes and character faces play the main characters of the story.  

 

 

The “Rucheng Taige” is a unique folk cultural treasure of Rucheng County, which has been passed down for hundreds of years. It mainly reflects the allusions, legends, or events that occurred in ancient drama and real life. Each “story” can show the complete storyline. 

 

 

During the Spring Festival holiday, the people of Rucheng hold this event to pray for good weather, abundant harvests, and happy and healthy families for the new year.
