The former site of the General Political Department of the Red Army is located in Hantian Village, Wenming Yao Township, Rucheng County, 47 kilometers away from the county. In early November 1934, the red army passed through the Department of Rucheng County during the long march. According to the March arrangement, the General Political Department of the Red Army of Chinese Workers and Peasants was stationed in Peizheng School of Wenming township (now Hantian Primary School).

Peizheng School was founded in 1922. It was funded by Zhang Shengshan, a classmate of Mao Zedong's Hunan First Normal School. There are 12 original houses, two-story earthen tile houses, facing north and south, with a quadrangle style. It covers a total area of about 300 square meters, with a playground in the middle. At present, only one house has been completely preserved.

According to the local witness Luo Peiyou, the old man stated that after the General Political Department had camped in Peizheng School, every day the leaders of all the Red Army Departments gathered here to study the marching battle plan. At the same time, a large number of political propaganda activities have been actively carried out, and the Manifesto jointly signed by Mao Zedong and Zhu De has been printed and distributed. Up to now, some propaganda slogans and cartoons can be seen clearly on the walls of the existing houses. After seven days of rest, the General Political Department also marched to the direction of Yizhang Litian with the troops.
