Chenzhou Processing Industrial Zone (Chenzhou High-tech Zone) was fighting for reaching the goal of being “one-hundred-billion industrial zone” in 2014. But besides focusing on the economic development, the zone placed much more attention on the ecological construction. How can it handle the sustainable development for the integrated development of industrial zone, urban area and landscapes? The reporting team of “Trans-Chenzhou Ecology Trip” visited Chenzhou Processing Industrial Zone (Chenzhou High-tech Zone) to find the answer.
On arriving at the industrial zone, the reporters were impressed with the green shade parking slot that all 47 parking vacancies were isolated by some plants. Some other trees as camphor, southern magnolia, and etc. were planted among the lines. It seemed to be packed in the green bag once parked the car there. There was even“umbrella” formed by the trees available to protect the car.
Li Xinping- a citizen of Chenzhou city was surprised to see this kind of green parking slot at the first sight.
When stepped into the courtyard of the company, besides the roaand some buildings, most were greening plants and grasslands. Even the offices were decorated with the trees and flowers.

Deng Jianjun- Director of Investment Attraction Bureau of Chenzhou Processing Industrial Zone (Chenzhou High-tech Zone) said to the reporters that along with the development of this industrial zone, their concept for the investment attraction were changed as well. Now, the standards for the ecological requirements of the companies which wanted to settle down in the zone became higher.
The ecological planning and workshops construction were handled out at the same time at the very first beginning of its construction, while the ecological management and production management were placed with balance attention on the process of operation. All the people who worked in the industrial zone were confident for the improvement of the ecological condition of the zone for the higher ecological requirements at the first step.
According to the data, the forest coverage rate, urban afforestation rate, greening rate and per capita public green areas of Chenzhou Processing Industrial Zone (Chenzhou High-tech Zone) were 45.8%, 39.98%, 40% and 9.8square meters respectively. A new ecological pattern was formed in this zone.
