Of course, enjoying flowers is indispensable to enjoy lotuses in Ailian Lake. Located at the junction of the bank of Chenjiang River, Chenzhou Road and Xiangxue Road, Ailian Lake was named after "An Essay on Lotus" written by Zhou Dunyi (1017-1073), a Neo-Confucianism scholar of Song Dynasty.

Ailian Lake was selected as the theme park of "Lian Culture" which is the core value of socialism. Architectural scale for the "six pillars, five doors and three floors" is currently the largest pure surface stone archway in the country. The archway is a combination of Jiahe Fengxian archway in Chenzhou, Sima archway in Rucheng, and embroidered garment archway in Chenzhou.

"Qingfeng Bridge" is the landmark building of Ailian Lake and many people call it the Great Arch Bridge. Standing in the middle of the bridge, tourists can have a good view of the whole Ailian Lake. The bridge combines the style of Yizhang Guapo Bridge in Chenzhou, the vertical height of 18m, and the span of 48m, which is the largest stone arch bridge in the province.

Crossing the Zhuoqing Bridge, the sculpture of "Lotus Girl", the masterpiece of Ailian Island, is in sight. The "Lotus Girl" is a pure white jade sculpture of the Han Dynasty, 6m high, vivid and extraordinary.

Lianxi Academy is the core building of Ailian Lake Scenic Spot and the largest academy to commemorate Zhou Dunyi in China at present, including gates, courtyards, walls, chambers, halls, Ailian Pool, etc.

The wooden inscription of "Lianxi Academy" on the plaque gives visitors a sense of commemoration and respect for Zhou Dunyi's personality and academy. The whole academy is full of dignified, simple and elegant academy atmosphere and book atmosphere.

From the academy, along the lake, tourists can see the Qihe Pavilion. Tired of walking, tourists can take a nap in the pavilion for a while, feel very pleasing.

Ailian Lake was built according to the terrain. There are lakes, academies and landscapes, and elegant black swans swim freely on the lake,attracting many tourists. Tired of swimming, they can go ashore to look for food and rest for a moment, forming a quiet picture with quiet water waves.
