In Chenzhou, there are also some large-scale planting areas, such as Liangtian Town in the city. Large-scale planting has formed Chenzhou's unique Phlox Subulata landscape. The flowering season of Phlox Subulata is the end of February and the end of April every year, attracting many tourists to enjoying and bring huge economic benefits.
The Phlox Subulata flower sea is located in the Chenjiangyuan Agricultural Flower Seedling Base of Duishang Village, Liangtian Town, Suxian District, covering an area of about 100 mu, very spectacular and beautiful. The flowering usually lasts until April.
The flowers of Phlox Subulata are very similar to those of Cherry Blossom. They are a new variety introduced from Japan, well-known ornamental flowers. Phlox Subulata flowers are shaped like cherry blossoms when they are in full bloom, but they do not grow on branches, but cover the ground as tightly as turf, like the colored carpets on the ground.
Phlox Subulata flowers are extremely drought-tolerant, with fine needles on the leaves, waxy leaf surface and lignified stems, which can greatly reduce water evaporation. They have strong disease resistance, no pests, strong adaptability, simple maintenance, and no strict requirement for soil and fertilizer. They can be planted in large quantities on thin barren soil, arid hillside, water and wet land.
Phlox Subulata flowers basically do not use sowing reproduction, with weak expansibility, so there is no need to worry about their growth out of control. They have 6 colors: purple, white, red, pink, light pink and pale purple. The flowers are dense and bright, and smell slightly fragrant. They blossom for two seasons, lasting for three months.
