The 3rd Golden Chrysanthemum Health Culture Festival Opens in Suxian District

On November 10, 2018, the 3rd Golden Chrysanthemum Health Culture Festival and the Industrial Poverty Alleviation Exhibition were held in Suxian District, attracting a large number of tourists. The chrysanthemum of this Festival is edible chrysanthemum. Visitors can taste the delicious food made of chrysanthemum, such as flower dumplings, rice dumplings and so on.

"These chrysanthemums are edible chrysanthemums, so we never use pesticides to control the diseases and insect pests of chrysanthemums. We don't use pesticides all the way, and rely on artificial insect repellent." Liao Xiaomao, head of chrysanthemum planting base of Chenzhou Jinduo Alpine Chrysanthemum Industry Co., Ltd., said. Although this is a slightly primitive planting method, it ensures the quality of chrysanthemum. In 2017, Chenzhou Jinduo Alpine Chrysanthemum Industry Co., Ltd. was awarded the title of Hunan Green Food Demonstration Base.

It was reported that Tianzidi Village Chrysanthemum Planting Base is a demonstration base of Jinduo Alpine Chrysanthemum Company in Chenzhou, covering an area of more than 500 mu. There are five varieties of gold emperor chrysanthemum, alpine chrysanthemum and alpine emperor chrysanthemum. At the same time, the company has planted alpine chrysanthemum in Futang Village, Xiadong Village and Duisheng Village in Liangtian Town, which effectively promotes local farmers to increase their income and become rich.

Established in 2009, Chenzhou Jinduo Alpine Chrysanthemum Co., Ltd. adopts the enterprise operation mode of "company + base + professional cooperative + farmer household". Up to now, it has formed a modern agricultural enterprise which develops the whole industrial chain of Alpine Chrysanthemum production, research, supply and marketing. In 2014, the company's innovative research and development of "Quick-frozen Alpine Chrysanthemums" won the national invention patent.

 

Huang Zhihua, General Manager of the Company, introduced that basing on the concept of "food supplement" of traditional Chinese medicine, the company had developed "Flower-scented Tangyuan", "Flower-scented Rice Dumplings", "Flower-scented Noodles" and other Alpine Chrysanthemum intensive processing products with the "Quick-frozen Alpine Chrysanthemums" as the main raw material. These noodle products have replaced chrysanthemums with flavors and pigments, without any preservatives. They have successfully passed the green class A food certification.

 

After winning the "Green Food" in "Three Products and One Standard", the output value of Chenzhou Jinduo Alpine Chrysanthemum Co., Ltd. exceeded 40 million yuan in 2017. The company will expand the southwest and Central-South markets, and the annual output value was expected to increase to 100 million yuan.

 

The villagers' representative of Tianzidi Village in Aoshang Town was pleased to say that planting golden Alpine Chrysanthemum helped the poor families in the village and increased their income. The Chrysanthemum Health Culture Festival is the best demonstration of the effectiveness of poverty alleviation.
