On July 1, the 5th Dongjiang Lake Liuhuawan Lotus Festival, with the theme of "Returning to Lotus, Meeting with Liuhua", opened in Liuhuawan Village, Sandu Town, Zixing City.
It was known that Liuhuwan Village is a traditional ancient village with a history of more than 600 years. At present, there are more than 400 well-preserved ancient dwellings in southern Hunan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In recent years, the local government has guided villagers to cultivate thousands of mu lotus and vigorously develop tourism. Every summer, patches of lotus flowers and simple old buildings reflect each other, attracting many tourists to enjoy the lotus. The city has held lotus festivals for five consecutive years, boosting the revitalization of Liuhuawan ancient village and becoming a vibrant tourist attraction.

In the evening, the opening ceremony, literary and artistic exhibition and the theme music party of "Beautiful Rhythm of Lotus" were held. The wonderful performances such as singing and dancing "Millennium Old Village Liuhuawan", romantic acrobatics "Moonlight Lover" and song "Misty Dongjiang River" were staged in turn, bringing a audiovisual feast to the citizens and tourists. At the same time, the "Lotus Banquet in Liuhuawan" featuring local characteristics and lotus themes was launched, inviting tourists to appreciate the "Lotus" delicacies.
