Looking at the pattern of urban development in Hunan Province, Changsha, the provincial capital, has always maintained a leading position in terms of gross economic output and per capita disposable income, firmly occuping the center of the province's largest city. The integration development strategy with Chang-Zhu-Tan as the center, has radiated the surrounding 1.5-hour traffic circle, which drove Yueyang, Changde, Yiyang, Loudi and Hengyang to form the "3+5" urban agglomeration. But in the 13th Five-Year Plan issued by Hunan Province, it was proposed to attach great importance to the development of southern Hunan, and make Chenzhou a new economic growth pole in Hunan Province.
The annual GDP of Chenzhou has caught up with and surpassed the "3+5" members of urban agglomeration. In recent years, Chenzhou has increased the proportion of urban infrastructure investment, further widened the radiation range of urban economic growth pole, and promoted the rapid development of urban economy and the inflow of population.
The expressway and traditional railway transportation drive Chenzhou traditional industry trade to the whole country. The Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway runs through the north and south of Chenzhou, sending and receiving more than 170 trains daily through Chenzhou West Station, with an average daily passenger flow of 28000 passengers. Changsha and Guangzhou are included in the 1.5-hour traffic circle of Chenzhou, which goes directly to Chengdu, Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Chenzhou Beihu Airport, with an investment of 1.956 billion yuan, is now under construction, and will directly fly to major cities throughout the country in the future to deepen economic exchanges and cooperation among cities. The four-dimensional traffic network provides a great deal of capital and crowd for the development of the urban development.
