“The overall brand image of Hunan tourism was further upgraded by holding this expo. Hunan tourism image became more influential and appealing.” said Zhang Zhiheng- Director of Hunan Tourism Bureau on 2014 China Hunan Tourism Industry Expo which was just closed in Chenzhou city. Zhang also stated that it was helpful to accelerate the speed to forge the upgrading version of Hunan tourism economy by holding the tourism industry expo.
Three features of this expo
“There are three features for this expo- great innovation, wide range and good influence” introduced by Zhang Zhiheng. Besides the comprehensive show of tourism industry from the aspects of “food, accommodation, transportation, traveling, shopping and entertainment”, some new types of operation as tourism device, self-driving association, e-commerce, and etc. were presented on the expo, which made the expo with more abundant contents. Zhang considered that more achievements were gained on regional cooperation from this expo, because it did not just focus on the exhibitors from Hunan province, it invited some other attendants from Guangdong, Guangxi and Jiangxi province to join in the expo.
More than 600 exhibitors attended this expo which covered over 30,000square meters exhibition area. In order to enrich the connotations of this expo, a new mode as “1+X” was handled out there. Besides the opening ceremony of the expo, some more sub-activities as tourism products contest, selection of top ten places of rural tourism, Nanling forum, traveling around Chenzhou city, and etc. were carried out in this expo, which greatly helped to extend the connotation and denotation of the expo and expand the space of the expo as well.
“Furthermore, the studio was moved to the expo site, which was a new innovation for this expo and helped to provide wider propaganda of the expo” Zhang Zhiheng told the reporters. Over one hundred media groups were invited to broadcast the expo, which not just help to enlarge the influence of the expo, but generate profound and lasting influence to Hunan tourism industry.
Upgrading version of Hunan tourism economy
As considered by Zhang Zhiheng, 2014 Hunan Tourism Industry Expo which was with the theme of “splendid Xiaoxiang, city in the forest” achieved with good results. “It helped to upgrade the comprehensive image of Hunan tourism brand. Along with the promotion of exhibition and demonstration of brands, Hunan tourism image became more influential and appealing. ”
“It was purposely to reach above results by holding the tourism industry expo annually” said Zhang Zhiheng. Tourism consumption was one of the key contents of household consumption and the tourism industry was in charge of expanding domestic demand and keeping stable increase. As a comprehensive integration, demonstration and promotion of Hunan tourism products, this expo would be greatly helpful to promote the upgrading of Hunan tourism consumption.
At the meantime, the colorful activities, creative innovations and substantial results of the expo would help to enrich the supply of Hunan tourism products, lengthen the industrial chain, enlarge the industrial scale, increase the attractiveness of Hunan tourism and fully accelerate the speed to forge the upgrading version of Hunan tourism economy.
The total income of Hunan tourism hit 170billion yuan in first 7 months of 2014
Hunan province is a big tourism resources province as well as a big tourism industry province. In recent years, Hunan tourism was with great improvement. Hunan tourism encountered with a new trend from last July, how to accelerate its development in this new starting point?
Zhang Zhiheng stated that followed the strategic target to “forge Hunan province as a strong tourism province” set by Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Hunan Government, Hunan Tourism Bureau presented the stage strategic target to forge the upgrading version of Hunan tourism economy and specified the “126” general working idea for Hunan tourism industry development. Along with one-year practice, it played active roles on promoting the upgrading and innovative development of Hunan tourism industry.
From this January to July, the total income of tourism industry of Hunan province hit 170billion yuan, up 18.41%. According to current trend, it was expected to receive 400million visitors and reach the total income of 300billion yuan in 2014.

100,000 visitors and 10million yuan trading volume for the 3-day expo
Meishan Wushu, Chenzhou Kunqu opera, Chengde silk string, and different kinds of products and activities attracted over 100,000 visitors to travel around the 2014 Hunan Tourism Industry Expo. The splendid Xiaoxiang landscapes, Huxiang folk cultures, and etc. made the visitors enjoyed themselves well.

2014 Hunan Tourism Industry Expo was closed in Chenzhou city on September 21, 2014. “This expo is with richer types of operation. Some new types of operations were shown on the expo , which helped to gain good effects”, said Gao Yangxian- Deputy Director of Hunan Tourism Bureau.
Comprehensive tourism image stand zone, essential purchases zone, rural tourism brands zone and some special zones for auto, smart tourism, outdoor tourism, carnival, and etc. were set in the expo. Rural tourism and characteristic industry county were shown on the expo for the first time. Beijing city, Guangdong province and some other provinces set their stands there as well. It was reported that over 100,000 professional audience and citizens visited the expo, and the total trading volume hit 10.36million yuan on site and the intended signing amount was about 58.30million yuan.
As one of the theme activities for the expo, 7 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 20 bronze medals were selected from 2014 Hunan tourism products contest.
The online promotion of 2014 Hunan rural leisure tourism products was launched on August 19, 2014. 70 places of top ten Hunan special rural leisure tourism destinations were elected during the expo. It was introduced that 60million votes were collected from the netizens, and the click rate of the web was over 2.20million times.
On Chenzhou tourism survey, hundreds peer guys of tourism industry and visitors from Hunan and other provinces gathered together to travel around the landscapes of Chenzhou city as Dongjiang lake, Guiyang Baoshan Mine, and etc. for free.
Huagu opera, wedding song, Meishan Wushu, and some other folk dances, songs, operas and intangible heritages were shown on the expo. 144 gorgeous performances acted by 400 actors were operated during the 3-day expo, which enabled all the visitors to enjoy the splendid Xiaoxiang and happy Hunan.
