Senior NPC Leader Investigates in Hunan

Chen Changzhi, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress (NPC), conducted investigation in Hunan Province from Sept. 4 to 6.

He stressed that members of the China National Democratic Construction Association (CNDCA) must keep firmly to the socialist road with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, focus on the central task of economic development, and participate in the deliberation and administration of state affairs, thus to push forward economic and social development.

Zhou Qiang and Xu Shousheng, secretary and vice secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee respectively, called on Chen and his delegation on Sept. 5, and then they attended the opening ceremony of the 7th Hunan-Taiwan Cooperation Conference on Economy & Trade launched in Chenzhou City.

Chen also attended the symposium of some CNDCA members held in Changsha and listened to the views and suggestions from all walks of life on urban development.

Liu Lianyu, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Hunan Province, and veteran comrade Long Guojian accompanied Chen during his investigation in Hunan.
