2011-09-24

A research group led by Cao Bochun and Wang Hongju, deputy directors of the Environmental Resource Committee (ERC) of the NPC arrived in Chenzhou to conduct investigation and research on Chenzhou's circular economy development and the implementation of the Circular Economy Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China from September 21 to 22.

The delegation affirmed the remarkable achievements Chenzhou had made in developing circular economy, especially in mineral economy promotion and deep processing of nonferrous metals.

Cao extended his hope that Chenzhou should further the development of circular economy, especially the employment of high level technological talents and the pollution source control of the upstream of the Xiangjiang River.

During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period (2006-2010), Chenzhou vigorously developed circular economy and the value of resource utilization comprehensively amounted to 3.02 billion yuan, recycling above 10 million tons of industrial solid waste with a growth from 83.1% to 98.3%.

Secretary of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee Dai Daojin and Mayor Xiang Lili accompanied the group during the investigation.
