Full Scale Reform of Town and Township Government Organs

On the morning of Oct.10, Chenzhou convened a video conference on the reform of government organs at town and township level. This reform coupled with the modification of administrative divisions of towns and townships is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

 

This strategy of expanding counties, strengthening central towns and merging small towns and townships is being adopted in order to push forward the idea of Chenzhou transform into the most open city in Hunan and a core city in the border area of Hunan, Guangxi and Guangdong provinces. The rational scale and layout of towns and townships after the reform and adjustment will be conducive to accelerating development of rural areas.

 

Dai Daojin, secretary of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee said, this reform is an inevitable move, a tenacious battle to deepen the overall reform of the city and a chance to assess officials' abilities. 

 

Xiang Lili, Mayor of Chenzhou City noted that conscientious efforts must be made to proceed with the reform of town and township government organs, institutional units and enhance control over the size of government organs.
