When inspecting the construction of Chenzhou's subsidized housing projects on Dec 12, Xiang Lili, mayor of Chenzhou, requested that priority must be given to improving people's livelihood and accelerating the construction of indemnificatory housing projects in a down-to-earth manner.
   

The central government has been providing subsidies for indemnificatory housing projects since 2008. During this period, Chenzhou has secured 252 subsidized housing projects, bettering supporting measures for affordable housing and perfecting the affordable housing system featured by different levels, various channels and a full coverage. Up to now, 48,500 low income and lowest-income families in the urban area have been benefiting from the undertaking, of which 39,400 are provided with low-rent houses and 9,100 economically affordable housing units.
