According to an announcement made at the 33rd Session of the Standing Committee of Chenzhou Municipal People' Congress held on December 22, Xiang Lili resigned as mayor of Chenzhou and Qu Hai was appointed acting mayor.
   

After his resignation from mayor's post, Xiang Lili, secretary of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee extended his gratitude to the Standing Committee of Chenzhou Municipal People's Congress for their support to him and the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government.
   

He also remarked that Chenzhou couldn't make so many achievements without the excellent work of the Standing Committee and their support towards the city's municipal government.
   

Xiang expressed his hope that the Standing Committee will offer unflinching support to the government so as to propel the city's rapid development in social and economic aspects.
