On June 6, led by its president Chen Shezhao, Municipal CPPCC members of Chenzhou investigated the medical and health system reform work.
Following the principal of maintaining the foundation, enhancing the primary level and establishing the mechanism, Chenzhou has carried out its medical and health system reform work successfully. Till April 2012, basic medical insurance holders of urban workers hit 494,000, while basic medical insurance holders of urban residents reached 997,000. Till March 2012, new rural cooperative medical insurance farmers had the number of 3.34 million with the rate of 100%. Now, the financing standard for both residents’ basic medical insurance and rural cooperative medical insurance is 290 yuan/person and the rate of reimbursement for urban workers is up to 82.89%.
The investigation team took a visit to Wanhuayan public health center and Yanquan community health service center and debriefed the medical reform report delivered by Chenzhou Government.
Chen pointed out that medical and health system reform, in relation to people’s fundamental profit, was the strategic disposition launched by China central government on the basis of overall development. Relevant departments at all levels should undertake the responsibility to propel the reform. Chenzhou CPPCC also needs to assist the departments in carrying out relative work with better efficiency.
Municipal leaders, such as Li Ping, Zhang Xihui, Wang Dong, Wang Cunxiang, Cao Jianping, Chen Fangmin, Li Xuelian, Xiong Bo, Pan Zhikun and Xu Shidian, participated in the activity.
