On June 7, in the joint meeting on non-ferrous industry transformation development, Chenzhou government signed a contract with Central South University on establishing the technology transfer center.

There are more than 110 kinds of minerals verified in Chenzhou city, among which 6 million are main non-ferrous metals amounting two thirds of the total reserve volumes in Hunan province. The total output of Chenzhou non-ferrous industry hit 91.26 billion yuan in 2011, up 41% of the scaled industry gross output. Now Chenzhou has formed its ten billion industry scale for the non-ferrous industry on the integration system of collecting, selecting, separating, smelting, processing, research, circulation and trade both at home and abroad.

In recent years, more than 140 enterprises and units of Chenzhou have had the cooperation with 80 colleges and universities. Chenzhou started the strategic cooperation with Central South University from November 2011. Till now, more than 60 units conquered the key technology with the university’s technology innovation platform. According to the agreement signed on this conference, in the following 5 years, Chenzhou city will keep working together on talent cultivation and introduction, technology transfer, establishment of innovative platform, scientific research projects, etc., which may help to upgrade Chenzhou non-ferrous industry core competitiveness in the optimization of resources arrangement, technology transfer, transformation upgrading, etc..

Mao Tengfei- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou required that Chenzhou should seize the chance to innovate forms of cooperation and establish long term mechanism and should enforce the connection between enterprises and scientific research institutions to accelerate the non-ferrous industry development and forge Chenzhou to be the“the city of China non-ferrous metal”.

The inspector of Hunan Ministry of Science and Technology- Zhou Shangyou, Vice-president and professor of Central South Hunan- Zhou Kechao, Chenzhou municipal leaders such as Zhang Xihui and Pan Zhikun were presented at the conference.
