The city's food security work conference held on May 30th afternoon of 2012

Food security refers to the availability of food and one's access to it. A household is considered food-secure when its occupants do not live in hunger or fear of starvation. Food security exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.
2012 Chenzhou food security working conference was held on May 30. This conference was focused on delivering the provincial food security conference spirit to all the participants, summarizing Chenzhou's work in 2011 and deploying the work in 2012. Deputy Director of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee- Li Xiping attended the conference.
It was learned that Chenzhou had achieved fruitful results in the special programs carried out to address the food security. 12,000 production units had been inspected in the year of 2011, among which 8 units were shut down for its unregulated operation, 122 illegal cases amounting to 1.35 million yuan were settled. The work tasks issued to Chenzhou by Hunan food security committee were fully accomplished without any big food security accident. Chenzhou was awarded with the excellent praise in the evaluation of Hunan province food security working.
It was pointed out in the conference that Chenzhou food security working in 2012 should focus on the core of “safety food for people” and should keep the principal of “tackling the problem , focusing on fundamental” to tamp foundation of supervision and management with long-acting mechanism. The rectification of food security should be further carried out, while the demonstration area establishment should be promoted to upgrade the management level, guide the social involvement of the security working, and propel its stable development.
