The Central China Forum was held in Changsha on May 17 with the participation of Party and government leaders from the six provinces in central China and officials of relevant ministries and commissions under the State Council.
The provincial officials introduced the new measures, achievements, and practices concerning scientific development in their respective provinces in a move to jointly explore ways of rising through green development, echoing the theme of the forum.
They also had an in-depth discussion on their efforts in pursuing green development, the difficulties facing them, and the cooperation and communication in this area, and then presented countermeasures and solutions.
Officials of relevant ministries and commissions under the State Council proposed suggestions targeting at central China's rising up and explicitly introduced various supporting policies.
Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Zhou Qiang chaired the forum and delivered the concluding remarks while Hunan Governor Xu Shousheng addressed the meeting.
