The population and family plan working conference was held on Feb 14th, 2012 by Chenzhou government. In the conference, the government presented the population and family plan work report of 2011, and laid out the tasks of this work for 2012 to mobilize the whole city to create a good population condition for the economy development. Xiang Lili— vice secretary of the municipal government of Chenzhou—stated in the conference that the government should propel the population work to a new step with stronger dynamism, greater actions and higher standard.

The population and family plan work of Chenzhou improved steadily in 2011. Chenzhou government reached the tasks on this work laid out by the provincial government and provincial party committee of Hunan province. Chenzhou government work was on the 6th ranking level of Hunan province which was improved one place compared with 2010 and reached the goal to keep the advance place.

The main tasks for population and family plan work of Chenzhou in 2012 are as follow: to control the natural population growth rate within 6‰, to control total population within 5.073 million, and to keep taking the advance place among the province cities. The municipal government and municipal party committee of Chenzhou city confirmed to take 2012 as the year of construction for grass-roots infrastructure. The government will take different activities in the construction of grass-roots infrastructure to improve the level of population work of Chenzhou city.
