The first technology transfer center in the city of Hunan province set by Central South University- Chenzhou Technology Transfer Center of Central South University was the new platform for the seamless joint between the university’s significant technology and Chenzhou advantageous industry.

From 2009 on, Chenzhou municipal government has established the consultation mechanism with Hunan Science and Technology Bureau, and confirmed the cooperation with Central South University, Hunan University, Xiangtan University and Hunan Agriculture University. Meanwhile, some counties such as Zixing, Yongxing, Guidong, Rucheng, Anren and others signed some technological agreement with different universities. The establishment of cooperation mechanism between governments and universities greatly helped to build the joint platforms for Chenzhou enterprises and universities’ technological achievements. Now this cooperation goes further, more than 140 high technology firms have worked together with more than 80 universities worldwide, for instance, Hualei photoelectric strategic cooperation with Chinese Academy of Science to set its LED R&D department, which was approved to be Hunan engineering research center of semi-conductor application, and Jinwang Bismuth Group successfully submitted to be Hunan key lab of South Hunan rare metallic compound and its application in Hunan key laboratory.

In recent 3 years, 7 provincial research centers, 36 municipal research centers, 1 academician work station, 4 practice bases for university students, 2 industry innovation aliens of rare metal comprehensive regeneration and fine processing and lead smelt & lead concomitant collection have been established in Chenzhou city. With the help of these platforms, Chenzhou city’s R&D level and innovation capacity of high technology industry were improved significantly. Till now, 162 patents, 2 China well-know trademarks, 1 protection of national geology mark product have been achieved in Chenzhou high technology industry, generating economic benefits of over 5 billion.
