Deputy Director of Party Group and Deputy Minister of State Water Resource Ministry- Jiao Yong led a research group to investigate the water conservancy work of Chenzhou city. Minister of Hunan Provincial Ministry of Water Resource- Dai Junyong was accompanied by Xiang Lili, Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee for this visit.

Jiao checked the details of each project after arriving at the project site. When coming to Dengjiachong water reservoir, he asked the staff to introduce the reinforcement project in detail and was learned that the main project had been completed in last December and both its flood control capacity and utilizable capacity would increase to 0.4 million cbm and 0.2 million cbm respectively with 900mu irrigation areas added.

Besides the project, Jiao carefully inquired the living conditions of the staffs and highly affirmed their hard work and great achievements. One of the staff, Huang Chengshan, whose working book were crammed with records of each reservoir review revealed that he had done this job for more than 20 years, so he could never miss the annual flood season. Jiao Yong remarked that reservoir administrators shouldered great responsibilities, so they couldn’t have the slightest trace of carelessness.

When Jiao Yong asked about the interest of the life and work treatment of Huang Chengshan, he said frankly : “on that line, I never care about how much money; the truth is that I am crazy about this work and hope to make as much contribution as possible to water utilities ."

Subsequently, Jiao Yong went to Leishui levees of Yongxing County. This project starts from Yongxing hydropower and ends with Guanyinyan. There is 3760 meters in length on the left bank, and 6260 meters in length of on the right bank. The main building contents include the new flood protection embankment, slope renovation and landscape architecture, green landscape, driveway tour road modification etc..

The staff answered them one by one to series of questions raised by Jiao Yong, such as “How much is the annual rainfall here?” “What is the design standard for flood protection embankment?” “Is there another urban sewage outlet for the river?” When learning that both sides of the outfalls had been closed and all the sewage were directed into specialized sewage pipes, Jiao Yong felt very satisfied and asked related departments to continue maintaining the green water for the Gulf.

Leaders of provincial water conservancy departments and Chenzhou city took the visit together with this investigation group.
