Chenzhou administration office of Hunan Expressway Administration Bureau was established on December 13, 2012, marking a new management model carried out in Hunan province. The regional management model took the place of earlier overall management way by one bureau. The work such as conservation, levy, administration, service, etc. in Chenzhou territory would be handled over to Chenzhou administration office.

It was learned that 14 expressways would be taken to operation within 2012 in Hunan province, which means that Hunan expressway mileage can be up to over 4000kms with a new historical record. Concerning Chenzhou city, currently the total highway mileage is 234 kilometers; but once the Xiarong expressway, Yifeng expressway are opened to public, its total mileage of expressway can reach 575 kilometers.

Along with the establishment of Hunan expressway network, upgrading operation and management work of expressway was highlighted to an urgent and important place. So Hunan Expressway Administration Bureau accelerated the reform of management system and mechanism by integrating resources and optimizing management. On the basis of “being consistent with administrative divisions”, the bureau is planning to establish 14 expressway administration offices to upgrade the expressway management efficiency, decrease the management cost and serve for the development of Hunan economy and society.
