Hunan flood control office stated: the weather condition is complicated in 2013, so severe flood disaster would happen probably.

Demands: paying high attention to arrange the flood control and drought relief work

Flood season has been come. All the flood control offices of Hunan province prepared well for the flood control work. Hunan flood control and drought relief working (video) conference was held on April 1, 2013. Xu Minghua- Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee and Chief Commander of Hunan flood control office required in the conference that all the departments should highly aware current flood control condition to handle the preparation work well and make sure the safety of people’s life and water reservoir to minimize the loss caused by disasters.

According to the preliminary analysis released by department of meteorology and hydrology, it would be with complicated weather condition in 2013 which indicated that some severe disasters would happen in Hunan province this year. All the departments should arrange the flood control work well in order to cope with the probable disasters.

Once Hunan flood control conference finished, Chenzhou city held an emergency meeting on its flood control and drought relief accordingly to implement the provincial conference spirit.

It was required in the conference, all the departments of Chenzhou city should pay high attention to carry out the flood control and drought relief work under such complicated weather condition. Currently, preliminary work on surveys of safety conditions of water reservoir, tailings, urban flood control system, etc. should be handled out well; flood control and drought funds, goods, materials and staffs should be arranged firstly; some pre-arranged plans should be implemented well to carry the precautionary measures; responsibility system should be practiced and etc.. All the work mentioned above were mainly for fulfilling the target set for Chenzhou city’s flood control and drought relief target of 2013.
