38,000 school vacancies would be available in three years

Celebration for 29th Teachers’ Day & conference of enhanced class teaching reform was held in Chenzhou city recently. Tan Lanxiao and other 19 “most lovely rural teachers”, He Xinxiu and other 9 “top ten teacher’s models” , some advanced education units and individuals were awarded on the celebration ceremony. Further mobilization and arrangement of class teaching reform were figured out on the conference as well.

According to the record, there were more than 50,000 teachers in Chenzhou city, which was with great achievements in recent years. 2591 new teachers were enrolled in Chenzhou city’s education system from 2012, 85% of whom were dispatched to rural schools. All the counties well implemented the policy that new teachers should be 3% of the whole teachers.

Due to the forceful promotion of class teaching reform, teaching quality of Chenzhou city was significantly improved with different kinds of upgrading forms. It was required on the conference that further reform should be carried out in Chenzhou city with enhanced reward and penalty policies; initiative behaviors concerned for class teaching reform should be led by directors of all level education bureaus and principals of schools; and active reform actions should be taken by the teachers to further improve the implementation of the reform.

In order to further promote the balanced development of compulsory education, more attention would be placed on the establishment and construction of village schools, trying to qualify all the village preliminary schools in three years. Furthermore, 500 million yuan loans were obtained from Changsha Bank to provide 38,000 new vacancies to the children and teenagers, which would be helpful to meet all the education demands of the 0.7 million children.

Some municipal leaders of Chenzhou city and Jiang Taosheng- President of Chenzhou Education Foundation attended the conference.
