The inspection group of Housing Ministry went to Chenzhou city for final check and acceptance of its establishment of national garden city

“Final exam” for Chenzhou city’s establishment of national garden city was handled out on September 26, 2013. The inspection group of Housing Ministry went to Chenzhou city for final check and acceptance of its establishment of national garden city.

A debriefing was held in the morning of that day. Zhang Xuefeng- leader of the inspection group and Yi jihong- member of Hunan Housing Department Party Group and General Engineer attended the conference and delivered a speech there. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee gave a speech on the conference as well. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee introduced the working condition of Chenzhou city’s establishment of national garden city.

Chenzhou city was successfully established as Hunan provincial garden city in 2002. A new plan on establishment of national garden city was launched in the following year and was awarded as “national advanced city of garden greening”, “national advanced unit of garden greening”, etc.. The establishment working plan on national garden city was launched again in 2009. According to the data, more than 17 billion yuan was invested on the construction of ecological landscape and some greening projects in urban and rural areas. With all the efforts of Chenzhou people, the environment condition worsened by the ice disaster in 2008 was recovered and was upgraded greatly in recent years. Till the end of 2011, greening coverage areas, greening land areas, and parks areas have been covered with 2555 hectares, 2415 hectares and 522 hectares separately, and the rate of greening coverage, greening land and park land per urban capita were as 38.31%, 36.21% and 9.53 square meters respectively.

The inspection group followed the 74 indexes of 8 categories concerning for the establishment of national garden city to check the establishment work accordingly. The implementation work of relative rules and standards were checked by the group as well. Zhang Xuefeng stated that a detailed inspection work would be carried out by the group to upgrade and summarize its establishment working experience. At the same time, Zhang expressed his best wishes for Chenzhou city to pass the inspection and to be listed as one of the national garden cities at the soonest time.

Xiang Lili stated in his speech that the establishment work on national garden city was one of the key work for Chenzhou city’s further development, so all the departments of Chenzhou city paid high attention on handling this issue. Xiang sincerely hoped all the leaders and experts of the inspection group can present their suggestions to help Chenzhou city to take further actions on the upgrading of management of city construction.
