Recently, an investigation group for establishment of Chongling National Wetland Park was organized by the State Forestry Administration Center and visited Guiyang county. The preliminary work handled out by Guiyang county on this establishment issue was highly affirmed by the investigation group.

Chongling river is one of the main tributaries of Xiangjiang river with more than 300kms, 115kms of which is in Guiyang county, covering 2244 square kms of nine towns of Guiyang county. In order to establish Chongling National Wetland Park successfully, a lot of preparatory work has been carried out in Guiyang county till now. In the very beginning of the confirmation to establish Chongling National Wetland Park in this March, a leading group of establishment work was formed in Guiyang county, and a general plan agreement was signed between the county and Hunan Forestry Industry Investigation Design and Research Institute. Now, a unique construction idea and conceptual planning has been figured out for handling the establishment work. It was with the theme of “improving ecological condition under protection and scientific development”. In this April, the first “water ecological civilization construction plan” of Hunan province was formed out by Chenzhou Water Conservancy and Hydropower Survey and Design Bureau. Detailed planning was figured out for Chongling river landscape belt and Chongling wetland park construction in this plan.

Chongling Wetland Park includes Ouyanghai Reservoir, part of Chongling river and mountain around the area with 29.3 kms long and 14.6kms wide, covering 3220 hectares areas. According to the plan, the theme for the park was “natural, sustainable, developing”. It was planned to establish a national wetland park with the features of forestry complex ecosystem, connotations of wetland culture and historical culture, and functions of wetland protection, scientific research, flood control, etc.

At the meantime, enhanced protection on wetland water bodies, flora and fauna resources, human landscape and natural landscape would be carried out in Guiyang county. Many special actions on the treatment to optimize the ecological conditions around wetland areas were handled in Guiyang county accordingly.

In addition, followed with the urban development pattern formed by Chenzhou government, Chonglingjiang area was improved as a new city group with special planning of water ecological civilization form.
