Guiyang “Joint Law Enforcement Team” Helps Migrant Workers to Ask for Salaries

It was learned that assisted with the help of Guiyang County Labor Security Supervision Brigade, a group of migrant workers from Jiangxi province got their salaries and returned to hometown recently. The special action to help migrant workers to ask for salaries was launched in Guiyang county in this October. It was reported that about 0.21 million yuan salaries were successfully obtained for migrant workers by the “joint law enforcement team” .

 

It was learned that a special “joint law enforcement team” was formed by Guiyang County Labor Security Supervision Brigade from October 29, 2013 to handle a month-long investigation action on arrears of wages for migrant workers. It was purposely to crack down the malicious back pay behaviors of some construction projects owners to ensure timely payment of wages for migrant workers.

 

Concerned for the case mentioned above for the workers from Jiangxi province, it was one of the successful cases settled by the team. At the beginning, the workers failed to get the salary after one-month grouting work for lacking of written contract with specified salary standard. After the coordination of Guiyang County Labor Security Supervision Brigade, Guiyang County Bureau of Housing, and principals of the project, a consensus was reached between the project unit and the worker. 30,000 yuan salary was paid for the workers.

 

Till now, followed with the requirement of laws and regulations, 7 rectification orders have been issued to the projects failed to pay the salary to migrant workers on time. Specified time schedules were figured out on the orders to ask the projects owners to pay off all salaries. Concerning for the projects with real difficulties to pay off all salaries, the repayment schedule should be figured out accordingly and should make sure to follow the schedule to pay off all.
