It was learned from Chenzhou Municipal Finance Bureau that 160 million yuan was placed on the improvement of public transportation in recent years, including the subsidies for the renewal of public buses.
Chenzhou city paid much attention on the improvement of public transportation with great amount of funds and investment. Along with the improvement of subsidies for public buses and application of LNG green buses, the transportation condition was upgraded greatly.
Some infrastructure projects as parking slots for interfaces of urban and rural areas, junction stations, first and last bus stops, etc., construction and protection for supporting facilities, purchasing funds of new buses, and some other infrastructure issues were covered into annual budget. Furthermore, more government funds concerned for urban public utilities surcharges, infrastructure supporting funds, etc. were placed on public transportation. According to the record, 7.85 million yuan was deployed on transportation infrastructure projects in recent two years by Chenzhou finance.
In order to upgrade Chenzhou city’s image, a project called “3-year, 300 new environmental protection buses”was launched in Chenzhou city. 5 million yuan subsidies were issued to the 50 new LNG public buses, 100,000 yuan of each. Higher subsidy standard as 150,000 yuan/bus was placed on newly purchased 100 LNG public buses in 2013. It was learned that this high level subsidy would be kept in 2014. Furthermore, 600,000 yuan funds were issued for exhaust governance and emission deduction in both 2012 and 2013.
At the meantime, more favorable policies were granted for old people, the disabled, and students to take public buses. It was reported the total subsidies spent on these policies was amounted to 7.30 million yuan. Besides that, more than 10 million yuan funds were subsidized for the public bus companies to compensate their losses permitted by policy and ensure their smooth operation.
Concerned for the subsidies for renewal of public busses, specified standards were figured out to different types of buses. In addition, 48.46 million yuan oil price reform financial subsidies for public buses were released in 2012 and 69.01 million yuan have been released in 2013 till now.
