Though it was cold in the winter of Linwu county, villagers were still fighting hard on the construction of the small-scale irrigation works which became the highlights of Linwu county’s water conservancy projects in this winter.

It was learned that Linwu county was ranked the top 10 place in 2012 Hunan provincial small-scale irrigation works evaluation. 37 project counties were covered in the evaluation. On the basis of the successful experience of 2012, Linwu county kept innovating the working ideas to combine the small-scale irrigation works with the winter water conservancy projects construction. Chujiang town and Wanshui village which were 2013 small-scale irrigation projects zones placed 13 million yuan on their projects. At the meantime, villagers of the two zones took active actions to collect more than one million yuan to handle the water conservancy projects. Some professional technicians were dispatched to the villages to guide the work and minimize the profit of the projects. According to the record, till the end of this November, over 4 million yuan investment has been fulfilled in Linwu county, more than 10 villages have started their small-scale irrigation projects construction issues, and some repairing work of pools and construction work of channels have been finished as well.
