Shareholding operation and prorate dividends are the two different new models for afforestation work handled out in Chengshui town, Zixing city. Both are knee for the urban-rural greening project promotion, which greatly helped to promote the afforestation work, especially for the visual mountain top’s afforestation work.

It was introduced that due to the decentralized management of the mountain farm, people’s weak afforestation awareness, and poor reforestation initiative, the visual mountain top’s afforestation work was hard to be promoted in Chengshui town.

Once learned all these difficulties, the town’s party committee and government figured out some methods accordingly. First, some forestry cooperatives were organized with shareholding operation model. Villagers were encouraged to join in it voluntarily with 10,000- 50,000 yuan/share. Till now, two forestry cooperatives have been established in the town and are operated well. Second, prorate dividends way was handled in some villages that the mountain farms were undertook by some big forestry groups or cooperatives, the owners of the farms became one of the shareholders with the farm and shared the dividends with 15-25%. Both the two models helped to unify the mountain farms’ management and increase their income as well.
