It is the sprint period for Chenzhou city’s establishment of national forest city now

It was learned from the leading group conference of Chenzhou city’s establishment of national forest city & ecological civilization construction work that it was preliminarily confirmed by the State Forestry Bureau to check the work of Chenzhou city’s establishment of national forest city in this June. It is the sprint period for the establishment work now. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City emphasized on the conference that all the departments should follow the standards to handled out further establishment work and make it up accordingly. The establishment of national forest city should be approved successfully.

Currently, the forest coverage rate of Chenzhou city is 65%, while the greening coverage rate of central urban area is 40.8%. Except some projects which were promoted rapidly under current situation, all other ration constructive indexes were on and above the standards. Now relative departments were busy with the preparation work .

Qu stated that the essence to establish the national forest city was to improve the ecological and living condition of Chenzhou city and upgrade Chenzhou city with higher city level. In recent years, Chenzhou city’s ecological condition was improved greatly by handling some activities as “five prohibitions”, afforestation, and etc. But more attention should be paid on some problems as poorer condition compared with some advanced cities, weak fire control awareness of the masses, and etc.

Qu emphasized that an enhanced greening work for further improvement of some weak points should be carried out by both rural and urban areas on the basis of ready plan. More attention should be placed on afforestation, fire control work on Qingming Festival and major projects of the establishment of national forest city. Enhanced propaganda work should be held to upgrade the masses’ awareness, support and satisfactory on the establishment work. Reform of collective forestry property right system should be promoted with innovative encouraging mechanism to mobilize all the social forces to join in the afforestation work. Enhanced leadership and stricter responsibility system should be figured out to implement relative work.
